Activites

Yogi Bear™ and Boo Boo™ and our activities staff want to make sure that you'll have a great time camping with us at Jellystone Park in Indian River. Daily activities will always include a chance for everyone to visit with Yogi Bear and Boo Boo, as well as games, crafts, wagons rides, candy bar bingo and evening cartoons. Theme weekends provide extra fun and excitement for the whole family!

May

May 14: Campground opens for the season. Camp for 25% off until May 27!

May 14 - 16: Campground Cleanup Weekend. Bring your rakes and CAMP FREE this weekend in exchange for a few hours helping us spruce up for the season. Kids help us wake Yogi Bear and Boo Boo from hibernation! Potluck on Saturday evening, and the season's first cartoons!

May 21 - 23: Outback Adventure.Join us this weekend as we do some Jellystone Park-style geocaching and learn basic orienteering. (using a map and compass to find your way in the woods-we'll have a course set up,and prizes for the best times to navigate the course!) If you already do geocaching, there are sites very near the park for you to find!

May 27: Grape Popscicle Day! Get a jump on your holiday weekend! Check in today to get pre-season rate for tonight, and free grape popscicle! (Regular rates apply for the rest of the weekend.)

May 28 - 31: Memorial Day/Race weekend.  We'll kick off the summer with our 1st Jellystone Park Derby on Saturady and the annual Indian River Box Car 500 on Sunday. Ladies and young ladies will have a chance to model hats they make during the pre-Derby "mint chip party".



 

June

June 4 - 6: Easter at Jellysone Park. Easter crafts, and Easter egg hunts. Parents, don't forget that you'll have your own hunt for the "golden egg"...a chance to win a FREE night of camping.

June 7: National Chocolate Ice Cream Day. Free single dip chocolate ice cream cone for everyone camping tonight.

June 11 - 13:  Halloween I. Make a mask contest, crafts and trick-or-treating is just some of the fun we have lined up for this weekend.

June 18 - 20: All Sports Weekend.A weekend filled with softball, kickball, volleyball, basketball, relay races, mini-golf, Father's horseshoe tournament and more! Something for ALL ages!

June 25 - 27: Pirate's Plunder. Don your best pirate's duds for our costume contest, practice your "pirate speak" and prepare to search for our buried treasure chest!



 

July

July 1: Canada Day. Special activites for our neighbors to the north!

July 2 - 4: July 4th Old Fashioned Country Fair. Games and fun for everyone! A watermelon seed spitting contest and an ice cream social are sure to be highlights of the weekend. We'll have information availble for local parades and fireworks.

July 9 - 11: Winterfest/ Christmas in July. We'll be playing summer versions of some winter olympic games, have winter and Christmas crafts, a "Deck the Site" contest and of course a visit from Santa. Parents bring a small gift (around $5) for Santa to give to your child.

July 13: International Puzzle Day. We'll have fun with all sorts of puzzles and some prizes.

July 16 - 18: Taste of Jellystone Park Campfire Cooking Cook-off Bring your secret recipes and enter our cook-off. There'll be prizes for the best entries in meat dishes, veggie dishes, salads and deserts. We'll do some "cooking in a can" or on a stick with the kids too.

July 23 - 25: Hawaiian Holiday. Join us this weekend for a luau and ice cream social. There'll be Hawaiian themed crafts and games for the kids.

July 30 - August 1: Quarter Qarnival for Camp Sunshine.  We're having a special carnival to help raise funds to donate to this wonderful program which enables families with critically ill children to go to camp togther as a family.



 

August

August 6 - 8: Surprise Birthday Party for Yogi Bear and Boo Boo.  We'll surprise Yogi Bear and Boo Boo with a party, complete with cake and ice cream for everyone! Cindy Bear ™ will be visiting too!

August 13 -15: Water Carnival. Bigger and better than last year! Bring your squirt guns and super-soakers, and get ready for an all-out water gun shoot out! Pool games, water pinatas, water-oriented arts & crafts, and more!

August 20 - 22: Haunted Halloween.Trick-or-Treating, site decorating contest and our haunted Wagon Ride. Whoooo knows what lurks in the woods? Are you brave enough to find out?

August 27 - 29:  Thanksgiving at Jellystone Park. There'll be games and crafts and our fantastic feast! We'll provide the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and beverages. In historic Thanksgiving tradition we ask you to bring a dish to share.

August 30: National Toasted Marshmallow Day.We'll have a group campfire and marshmallow roast this evening!



 

September

September 3 - 6:  Labor Day Weekend/Mardi Gras Fest. Wrap up your summer with all your favorite Jellystone Park activites. On Saturday eveing we'll celebrate New Orleans style with parade, pinatas and costume dance.

September 7: National Grandparents day.Grandparents camping with their grandkids camp for FREE tonight. (accompanying parents are $5.00 ea.)

September 7 - 12: Grandparents Week at Jellystone Park.Show us a picture of your grandkids and camp for 50% off all week! (accompanying parents are $5.00 ea.)

September 10 - 12:Grandparents Weekend. Same great rates apply this weekend, so grab those grandkids and show them a weekend of camping fun grandparents style. (accompanying parents are $5.00 ea.) FREE mini-golf for grandparents with their grandkids.

September 17 - 19: Scrappers Weekend.We'll have representatives from Stampin' Up and Creative Memories here all day Saturday to help you with great ideas for scrapbooking your summer vacation memories. And we'll keep the kids busy the whole weekend so you can work! (Event open to the public)

September 24 - 26: Oktoberfest and Halloween III.Celebrate the fall! We'll pick pumpkins and gourds from Yogi Bear's Pumpkin Patch, bob for apples and share in a traditional Oktoberfest supper on Saturday evening, Kids will Trick-or-Treat in the campground.

September 30: Campground closes for the season.See you next season. HAPPY HIBERNATION!
